Onboarding and training
So you’ve been chosen to join the Shifts team — congratulations! There are a few steps you’ll need to complete before you can start working. Read through our Onboarding FAQs so you know what to expect.
As soon as you log in, you'll be able to see every step you need to complete in order to finish your onboarding. Onboarding includes:
Reviewing legal consents
Completing a background check and employment authorization
Filling out a W-2 and new hire paperwork
Add direct deposit information
Complete employee training
Once you've filled out your onboarding paperwork, you will be sent an invitation to complete your profile.
If you didn't receive it, here is some quick troubleshooting tips:
The invite should come through email or text, depending on the contact information you applied to Shifts by Snagajob with.
Be sure to check your SPAM folder. The email should come from work@t.snagajob.com with the subject "You're in! Start your onboarding to book your first Shift."

We conduct background checks to ensure the safety and security of our workers and customers. We evaluate every result with a fair, reasonable, and equitable process when it comes to determining how a criminal record impacts our final decision to hire you to work for Shifts by Snagajob.
This check is required and comes at no cost to you. We provide every candidate access to their report through our third-party partner, Checkr.
80% of applicants get their background check results within 24 hours, but it could take up to 3 days to process. In rare instances, some jurisdictions could take a bit longer.
If you have a past charge on your record, it can take up to 2-6 weeks for your report to be finished.
If the report does not show anything that our company is concerned with, your account will move forward to the rest of onboarding.
If the report shows a past conviction that gives us reason to be concerned, we may reach out to ask for additional information. If we determine a conviction may prevent you from moving forward in our process, you will receive an email with the subject "Pre-adverse action notice" that will list the convictions that are relevant to your position with Shifts by Snagajob.
If you fail to respond within 7 days of the "Pre-adverse action notice," we will make our hiring determination based on the information currently available to us.
Yes, if you’d like to dispute the accuracy of the information in the report, please contact Checkr. They complete our background checks.

After you fill out Section 1 of your I-9, pick a person to verify your documents. This can be a friend, family member, or someone else. You’ll need to provide their email address so they receive instructions from Hiretech, so make sure you have that information.
Once you are ready, meet up with your designated person and show them your documentation. They will follow the instructions provided by Hiretech to approve your documentation.

So you can get paid! All Shifts by Snagajob workers are paid via direct deposit.
After you work a Shift, a manager will confirm your hours. We then pay you securely and directly into your account.
Payday is on Friday. We consider workweeks to be Tuesday through Monday, so any hours that were worked during the previous week will be included in your paycheck.
If payday falls on a bank holiday, you may experience a delay in your paycheck being deposited.
