We run a background check after an applicant has already been interviewed and we’ve decided to extend a conditional invitation for you to join the Snag Work network. A background check is a means of protecting our business partners, but we strive to be fair and reasonable with how a criminal record impacts our final decision to invite you to Snag Work.
This check is required and comes at no cost to the worker. We provide every candidate access to their report through our third party partner, Checkr.
A background check typically takes 2-3 days to process once you give your consent to start the report. If you have a past charge on your record, it can take up to 2-6 weeks for your report to be finished. You may check the status of your background check here.
If your report doesn’t surface a past conviction that Snag Work has concern with, we will move forward with your onboarding.
If your report surfaces criminal history that gives us a reason to be concerned, we will notify you via email, in what is called a “Pre-adverse action notice” that will list the conviction(s) that we have deemed relevant to your potential work with Snag Work. You will be asked to schedule a follow-up conversation with someone from Team Snag. We will evaluate the information pertaining to your background check on an individualized case-by-case basis in accordance with the law and EEOC guidance.
If we do not hear from you within 7 days of the “Pre-adverse action notice” email being sent to you, we will make our hiring determination based on the information currently available to us.

Your checking account info is required so we can pay you for every shift you work. No waiting two weeks for a paycheck with Snag Work—we pay you securely and directly into your account within two business days.
After a manager confirms your hours, payments will be direct deposited into your bank account in 2 business days.
Shifts worked during the weekend or a holiday may have a delayed payment schedule.
It’s up to you whether you claim a shift request or not. For each shift request you claim, you can review the requirements such as uniform guidelines. Certain brands may require you to review training materials and pass a simple quiz (don’t worry you can take it as many times as you need!) to be able to work at their location.
Snag Work will send you opportunities to pick up shifts based on a combination of our business partners’ needs and your availability.
Once a Business Partner requests a shift at their location, all Snag workers who have matching availability will receive a text message with a few details and a link to open the Snag Work app for more information. A Snagger claiming a shift sends a confirmation message to the Business Partner who will be provided your basic info and will be waiting to welcome you to their business.
As we are building the Snag Work service, we are doing our best to add more businesses on as often as possible. If you are not receiving any invitations, we’d recommend first that you adjust your availability within your profile settings to allow yourself more opportunity. If this doesn’t work, it could simply mean that demand from our business partners is low, but again, we are trying to add more businesses in order to provide as many opportunities to work as we possibly can.
