During your shift
If a worker exhibits improper conduct, they may receive a strike on their account.
Examples of improper conduct include, but are not limited to:
Not adhering to dress code and uniform requirements
Improper food safety precautions
Treating a customer or colleague with disrespect
Giving away food or discounts without permission
Strikes are given at the discretion of the Shifts team for unprofessional behavior or a lack of preparedness. Please use good judgment at all times. Read more about strikes.
If you arrive on time for a scheduled shift and the manager on duty cancels the shift, please do the following:
Submit hours for the period that you were there (even if only 10-30 minutes).
Mention what happened in the clock-out feedback, and please include who you spoke with at the business. Hopefully, it was the manager, but if not, please remember names.
If we can verify that shift information was correct and the business did not cancel the shift before start time, you will be paid for the entire original shift length.
You should never leave a shift early without getting approval from the manager or a Shifts team member. If you do, you'll receive an automatic three strikes.
In most situations, the best thing to do is to try to work the full shift. However, if you do need to leave early, please:
Speak to the manager on duty first.
We expect you to make your best effort to stay until a replacement can be found for you. If handled appropriately and professionally, leaving early with approval and cooperation from the manager and Shifts by Snagajob will only result in one strike.
On occasion, the shift manager may ask you to work longer hours.
You do not have to say yes; the decision is up to you. If you decide to work later, just report the longer hours when you submit hours, and you'll get paid for that extra time.
Occasionally, you may be asked to do additional duties that are similar in nature to the ones described in your original shift. If the duties you end up doing are very different from what you signed up to do, we want to know. Please take the following steps:
Contact us right away so we can begin looking into the situation.
Leave a note about what happened in the feedback section when you clock out from your shift.
We'll evaluate these instances on a case-by-case basis.
Regardless of the reason you were sent home early, please submit accurate hours reflecting the time you worked.
Whether or not you’re paid for the original shift length depends on the reason for early dismissal.
You'll be paid for the full original shift length if a manager sent you home early based on factors unrelated to your conduct and/or performance, such as the following:
Job completed early
Business is sufficiently staffed
Business is slower than anticipated
A manager made a shift request by mistake
You will be paid ONLY for the hours you worked if you were dismissed early due to:
Improper conduct
Being unable to perform the job duties outlined in the shift description
If you are asked to leave early due to improper conduct, you may receive a strike on your account.
We hope that accidents never happen, but if they do, you may be protected through worker's compensation through Shifts by Snagajob. You must report the incident through the proper process so it can be handled appropriately.
If you are hurt during a shift:
